• Getting in touch with family members upon arrival.
• Keeping in touch with family members through established facilities.
• Arrangements for temporary accommodations when student arrives in Singapore.
• Orientation to Singapore and new way of life.
• Adjust to independent living and a new environment:
• Guidance on the procedure of changing foreign currency.
• Setting up a bank account with a local bank.
• Applying for an ATM card.
• Getting to know the public transport system, and the MRT system in particular.
• Purchasing a cash card and a Transit Link fare card for convenience when using the public transport.
• Familiarization with the map of Singapore.
• Guidance on how to travel to school from the students accommodation
• Education consultation / counseling.
• Registration with school and payment of school fees.
• Getting to know the National library. Arranging for a study tour of the library to familiarize student with library procedures to look for reference materials.
• Opening a library account with the National Library.
• Visiting local bookstores for the purchase of books.
• Arrangement for medical checkup on arrival with an approval medical clinic in Singapore
• Registration with Singapore Immigration to obtain a:
• a) Student Pass Card.

b) Re-entries permit.
